Picking the best debs dress for your bodyshape!

It's that time of year again...and being given this wonderful idea from a good friend Ms.Sara Dalton I decided to do a debs related post! Looking back I am sure many of us (myself included) wish we had chosen a dress a little better suited to our figure and shape, but we as youngsters are a bit mesmerized by the idea that we are going to get to dress like a princess  etc and the bigger the better...or at times the trampier the better..Alas , I decided I would do a quick and easy guide to dressing your body shape when it comes to evening wear!

For the more curvy lady :
It's probably best to stick to darker colours in order to hide problem areas. The most important thing for curvy woman (and very slim woman) is creating a waist, so look out for dresses that pinch in at the waist and have some sort or belt or embellishment that goes right around the waist.
Now lets be frank you don't want to go hiding all your areas and if you have got em flaunt em, avoid straps and chose heart shape bust lines to enhance your curves, this will also help to proportion out your body, if you have a bigger bust a higher neck line or full coverage will in short make you look much bigger than you are.
Pick long flowing skirts with minimal or no detail, not mountains or cupcakes but sleek falls of material that don't stick to you when you moves nor add size where there is none. And for the love of god avoid patterns , not only are they mostly atrocious but they add weight and fuss.

The first Dress was found @Dresscode.Ie the next two are from NewYorkdress.com and missesdressy.com

Now for the Athletic/Very Slender Girl:
If you are a very slim girl its best to get a little fussy with your dress, straps are a great way to broaden your shoulders, once more as I said, creating waist is the best way to add curves and create a hour glass figure so go with something pinched in at the waist or with a belt or embellishment the whole way round the waist. Having a higher neck line or cap sleeves will draw attention away from a smaller bust , if you really want to enhance that area pick a dress, with folds , layering or frills on the bust to create more shape. have a skirt that rather than sticks to you skims over the hips, make sure there are many layers of fabric to ensure once more that you are adding more shape. Finally, if you like em grab a dress with patterns, patterns are a great way to draw eyes away from a very slender shape.

These dresses are to die for ! And can all be found @Parisbella.com
If you are a Petite Lass :
I know you don't wanna hear it, but you should really be picking a short dress this will avoid you looking lost in a long dress and give the illusion that you are taller than you are! Stick to the rules above if you are bustier have a low neckline if you aren't so much cover it up etc. The great thing for petite girls though is that usually you don't have much to hide, and usually you have great hourglass shapes! So you have so much more to play around with! Here is a few great examples of short dresses :

All these dresses are available once more at ParisBella.com!
