Benefit Makeup Night, Porefessional and the low down on the famous They're Real Mascara!

So , hello lovelies! I had the pleasure of attending a Benefit masterclass during the week with the very lovely Mark Rogers , Benefits leading makeup artist in Ireland and the UK. It all started out will, we were sitting at a table for around ten adorned with sweets, flowers champagne and all the Benefit cosmetics we could get our hands on to sample!

We started of the evening with the grooling task of having to remove all our make up, and step by step Mark showed us how to use various products from the range! My fav were the Moisturizing Serum "Moisture Prep Toning Lotion" and their Moisturizer "Total Moisture Facial Cream". These are great preparation for before putting on make-up , especially if you have dry skin! Plus they really aid in having a very even foundation application, and will certainly be landed on my wishlist!
The great thing I found about this class was that , yes Benefit is an investment buy. It is very expensive make up, but by attending this class I got to try out everything and in turn found what suited myself which made the spending a lot easier and choosing things I knew I would use rather than half guessing!
I would completely recommend attending one of these events, to find out when and where they are on keep an eye out on the Benefit facebook page!

In the end up I came away with a little goodie bag, with the renowned Mascara "They're Real" and face primer "Porefessional", Two cream eyeshadows, one for myself and one for a lucky reader of the blog!

So on to the reviews!

Firstly Porefessional, I have been hearing nothing but wonderful things about this primer and just knew I had to get it! On the onset, yes it is amazing! It minimizes pores and takes away that look from your make up where you can see all your pores on your nose etc (that's if you are anything like me, with caves for pores!). Not only does it do that though, but it acts as a primer to create a barrier between your makeup and skin,it also fills any small crease's i.e under the eyes to create a more even finish to your makeup AND it has an spf of 25! La di da!

The ONE and only flaw in porefessional is that, unless you moisturize very very well, or if you like me suffer with dry skin, it can dry your skin out and sometimes leave dry patches which is no good! So, if you do buy this product really ensure you moisturize well!

Secondly They're Real: I LOVE this product,  I find it is so hard to get a good mascara that volumises and lengthens lashes without making them clump together! Yet, this manages to do just that! It's a build-able mascara, so if you want a low key look just apply once or twice but if you want a full look apply a few more! The most ingenious thing about this mascara is the bush, it has a double brush! one along the length and one at the tip so as to get as those small hard to reach lashes at the inner eye! I really do love it!

One minor issue I am having and have had before with Bad Gal, is that black smudges around the eyes or on the eyelids! I am not sure if this is happening everyone so if anyone wants to let me know how they got on with it that would be great!
An eye with one layer of They're real on and one without!

So, thats my review! Giveaway will be up tomorrow guys! So keep an eye out ;)

Picking the best debs dress for your bodyshape!

It's that time of year again...and being given this wonderful idea from a good friend Ms.Sara Dalton I decided to do a debs related post! Looking back I am sure many of us (myself included) wish we had chosen a dress a little better suited to our figure and shape, but we as youngsters are a bit mesmerized by the idea that we are going to get to dress like a princess  etc and the bigger the better...or at times the trampier the better..Alas , I decided I would do a quick and easy guide to dressing your body shape when it comes to evening wear!

For the more curvy lady :
It's probably best to stick to darker colours in order to hide problem areas. The most important thing for curvy woman (and very slim woman) is creating a waist, so look out for dresses that pinch in at the waist and have some sort or belt or embellishment that goes right around the waist.
Now lets be frank you don't want to go hiding all your areas and if you have got em flaunt em, avoid straps and chose heart shape bust lines to enhance your curves, this will also help to proportion out your body, if you have a bigger bust a higher neck line or full coverage will in short make you look much bigger than you are.
Pick long flowing skirts with minimal or no detail, not mountains or cupcakes but sleek falls of material that don't stick to you when you moves nor add size where there is none. And for the love of god avoid patterns , not only are they mostly atrocious but they add weight and fuss.

The first Dress was found @Dresscode.Ie the next two are from NewYorkdress.com and missesdressy.com

Now for the Athletic/Very Slender Girl:
If you are a very slim girl its best to get a little fussy with your dress, straps are a great way to broaden your shoulders, once more as I said, creating waist is the best way to add curves and create a hour glass figure so go with something pinched in at the waist or with a belt or embellishment the whole way round the waist. Having a higher neck line or cap sleeves will draw attention away from a smaller bust , if you really want to enhance that area pick a dress, with folds , layering or frills on the bust to create more shape. have a skirt that rather than sticks to you skims over the hips, make sure there are many layers of fabric to ensure once more that you are adding more shape. Finally, if you like em grab a dress with patterns, patterns are a great way to draw eyes away from a very slender shape.

These dresses are to die for ! And can all be found @Parisbella.com
If you are a Petite Lass :
I know you don't wanna hear it, but you should really be picking a short dress this will avoid you looking lost in a long dress and give the illusion that you are taller than you are! Stick to the rules above if you are bustier have a low neckline if you aren't so much cover it up etc. The great thing for petite girls though is that usually you don't have much to hide, and usually you have great hourglass shapes! So you have so much more to play around with! Here is a few great examples of short dresses :

All these dresses are available once more at ParisBella.com!

Thats my advice for Debs/Prom dresses! If you have anymore questions or queries email me Rose.Brennan@ucdconnect.ie

River Island Haul!

So, unlike some people I know I did not hit the River Island sale with the early bird bargainers who end up rioting with each other in the store! Usually I would don't get me wrong but I was ill prepared for the sale this time round and after a long few days in work, and sleep in was called for! So I strolled down town at about 12 or 1 o'clock and ventured to both stores! Ofcourse, as usual the place was MAYHEM it was as if a bomb had hit the place, clothes everywhere people ripping things from rails and old woman fighting bags of teenages....the very typical RI sale.

I wandered around a bit , I am not a big RI fan, just recently I haven't found much I like, although their bags and purses are always pretty swell.

I found these two jumpers on the ground for 18 euro each and was dead please as I don't really have much knit wear and can never find any I like for a reasonable price!

As always the first thing to go in the sale are usually any nice bags or purses! I got really lucky and spied a bag under a pile of clothes , and it happened to be one I had been looking at for a while, but unwilling to spend the dosh on! It was a really nice satchel with canvas paneling with gorgeous elephant prints in navy and red! It came in at 20e!

Next thing I did was have a nose in the accessories, I picked up two real cute rings! My favourite personally is the blue ring, its just so big and weird and I things its awesome! A real tribal piece!

The next one I bought was just a silly gold horse ring which, once again was adorable and irresistible and both only a mere 3e!

Check out what you can in the post sale remnants of RI , you'd be surprised what you'll find!

OOTD Finally! 1 of 10.

I know I know it took me forever, but I am working a crazy amount this week and next so posts may be few!
I wore a few of the new pieces I bought from Topshop the other day and styled them how I would wear them. Little brogues and socks are like my signature I practically always wear socks with everything, as I have said a hundred time, I love cutesy outfits!

I teamed them with a little tan belt, and tan and cream brogues! My earrings are from topshop and my necklace from Accessorise! When heading out I thought a blazer was the best thing to wear to keep it a more preppy look!

Ten Days Of OOTD

Going to do Ten days of Outfits of the day, now these don't include working days, but making a point of trying to show you guys my style and how I dress!

Going to do a skin care routine too for dry/eczema or sensitive skin :)

TopShop Haul! Boom!

So! I got paid an extra 100 euro this month because of a mishap with my pay last! So I went a bit wild on the spending, but hey I had it and I deserve a trear once in awhile! Right??

So I hit  topshop scouting out anything I could salvage from the sale! I picked up these three lovelies!(Sorry for the poor quality pics this time round :( )
I have had my eye on this for ages! and I absolutely love it! It's a very cutesie skirt, and ofcourse it is a chalky blue and totally reflects my love for pastels! This skirt was pretty expensive and came in at around 52 euro, which my lovely boyfriend bought for me! Its high waisted and an A-line mini with pleats which if you suffer with large thighs like myself compliments your figure!

The next piece I got were these wicked shorts, I absolutely LOVE them! They came in at a super cheap for topshop 22e! They are so summery and the print is adorable, once more they are high waisted and very short hot pants, I think they will be great for the summer and have bundled a few cute day outfits already with an oversized cream jumper and my converse!
The last two items I bought were this silver cut off sleeve t-shirt and this unicorn necklace! The top came in at around 10e and the necklace about 12e! I know the necklace was a little pricey but once more, anything a little cute and neutral I love so spending was easy peesy (as it usually is ;) )

Deffo take a trip down to TopShop and see what you manage to pick up!

Benefits Finding Mr.Bright Review

I am a Benefit virgin! So with a few bobs I had I ventured to Harvey Nichols the other day with the intention of buying something! I had heard really good things about HighBeam, Benetine, Pore professional etc! So I wasn't really sure what to get, as it is quite pricey and picking up two or three things would quickly have you at the 100e mark!

So instead , and something I would recommend! I opted for this little set for concealing, highlighting and blush! It came with four products, and was 39 e, which is very expensive, but we need to remember Benefit is a high end brand ! So, unfortunately this isn't for you thrifty shoppers! But! I will be doing a cheaper option highlighting and blush post soon! :)

So the first Product I used was Benefits "Erase Paste"

I wouldn't suffer with bad blemishes often, but I do have quite dark circles under my eyes, this concealer is AMAZING, especially if you are in need of a good concealer, I would highly recommend this! Using only a very small amount you get very good coverage, it goes on quite heavy but when blended in, it gives an even tone. It covered up those dark circles straight away! Remember when using concealer like this, to put ontop of your foundation and blend in evenly before applying powder!

The next product I used was Posie Tint, which looking back is probably a much better shade of blush for me than Benetint, which is much redder. Anyway, Posie tint can be used as a blush or a liptint!
It goes on very pink, so ensure when using it for your cheeks you rub it in quickly to avoid leaving pink lines on your cheek. It gives a very subtle pink to the cheeks and I had to apply it a few times before I had the pigment I wanted. I do like this product because of the dewy appearance of the blush, but it is a pity it takes so many applications before there is a significant colour to the cheeks.

I had heard great things of Highbeam and had such high expectations, and honestly I am a little disappointed! I mean yes it is a nice dewy texture again, but I think it again needs many coats before there is the right amount of product, I dabbed it onto my cheek bones and under my brow arches and initially it had no effect,   I am hoping to buyMoonBeam and review it too! But, in the end up I was a little let down by higbeam!

Now Girl meets Pearl,I loved! It was absolutely gorgeous! Its used to add a glowing effect for over makeup, I think it is amazing for highlighting and would deffo recommend it!
It had such nice tone to it and it would be great for all skin colours!

So, that's my review of the Finding Mr.Bright Kit, I would recommend it in all honesty! My only big disappointment was HighBeam, and in all fairness that was only one opinion, I think I can officially say I have Popped my Benefit Cherry and I'm in love!

Louboutins Cinderella Shoes Revealed!

It was announced back in April, and we have all be eagerly awaiting the designers take on the legendary "Glass Slippers".

The shoes were crated to celebrate the Diamond Edition released on Blu-Ray and Dvd this year!
The shoes have the trade make Louboutin red soles, and are adorned in lace and Swarvoski Crystals.

I I think they are pretty enchanting! Not very wearable, but I am sure that's not really the point!  They are very fussy and they are really not much to my taste, but that's just my opinion! I guess it's silly of me to think you could have glass shoes that are practical, but there is always hope!

But the butterflies are pretty nifty right?

Bring on the Harrods Christmas Windows!!

Katy Perry Marchesa

Dang! Katy Perry absolutely rocked her Marchesa dress at the London Premiere of her new Docu-movie "Katy Perry : Part of Me 3d" (That is going to be AWESOME).

I loved this dress not only for its obvious beauty, but also because it takes a step away from Perry's obsession with the Gothic look of late, which looks great on her, don't get me wring but it is so nice to see her in something bright and well reserved! <3
